After leading all players in points scored across three games last week, Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers was named the NHL’s first star of the week on Monday.
Over that time, McDavid contributed three goals and five assists to the Oilers’ three-game winning streak.
With 125 points (29–96) this season, the five-time Art Ross Trophy winner was third in the NHL going into Monday’s games. Nathan MacKinnon of Colorado leads with 127 points (47-80).
Goalie Logan Thompson of the Vegas Golden Knights was chosen the second star, while Alexis Lafreniere of the New York Rangers was given the third star.
Over three starts, Thompson recorded three victories, 102 saves, a 0.98 goals-against average, and a.971 save percentage.
With five goals in the previous week, Lafreniere led all NHL players. He contributed two assists as well.
