What is the Minnesota Vikings’ Pre-Draft Projected Win Total For 2024?
Three weeks ahead of a critical NFL draft for the franchise, the Minnesota Vikings’ current Vegas projected win total is 6.5. Only three teams — the Panthers and Patriots at 4.5 and the Broncos at 5.5 — have lower projected totals. Five other teams — the Commanders, Raiders, Cardinals, Giants, and Titans — are also at 6.5.
That tells you a bit about how the market is expecting the 2024 season to go in Minnesota now that Kirk Cousins has moved on. Cousins’ new team, the Falcons, have a projected win total of 9.5, which is tied with the Packers for fifth-best in the NFC.
Right now, the Vikings have just Sam Darnold, Nick Mullens, and Jaren Hall in their quarterback room. They’re expected to draft a QB in the first round this year, but Darnold may end up starting Week 1 to let the rookie learn behind the scenes for a bit. It all depends on who the Vikings pick and how ready they are to play.
It seems unlikely that the Vegas total will jump from 6.5 following the draft. Maybe if the Vikings trade up for someone like Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye, it could go up to 7.5. But maybe not. Daniels and Michael Penix Jr. are older prospects who might be more likely to play right away than Maye and J.J. McCarthy.
