LeBron James’ thoughts regarding Dan Hurley, the prospective head coach of the Lakers, are revealed in an old tweet.

Following the announcement that the Los Angeles Lakers are aggressively considering Dan Hurley, the head coach of the University of Connecticut, for their next head coaching position, an old tweet from LeBron James went viral.

The Lakers have started preliminary conversations with Hurley and are anticipated to step up these talks shortly, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Hurley has drawn a lot of attention for his coaching abilities and passion for the game, even from LeBron James, who may soon be playing for him.

Hurley was mentioned by James on Twitter a few weeks ago when the coach was featured on NBA analyst JJ Redick’s podcast, “The Old Man & The Three.”

James expressed his admiration for Hurley’s coaching abilities in the tweet. With 141 wins and 58 losses over the course of six seasons, Hurley has guided UConn to an outstanding record. The team has won back-to-back titles in the last two years.

James’ free agency decision may be significantly impacted by the Lakers’ possible hiring of Hurley. Hurley’s successful time as a UConn professor may persuade James to stick with the Lakers.

For the first time since 2018, LeBron can choose to become a free agent. The Lakers have offered him a $51.4 million player option, which he must take or reject by June 29. James would become a free agent and be open to offers from other teams if he choose to opt out.
