West Brom make swoop for £10 million. The Aston Villa forward
West Brom have completed the loan signing of Aston Villa winger Lewis Dobbin, the club said.
West Brom are in desperate need of fresh signings after losing a number of players this summer.

That has been especially true in recent weeks, with all of Conor Townsend, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Okay Yokuslu selling in rapid succession. They joined Ipswich Town, Coventry City, and Trabzonspor, respectively.

Carlos Corberan needs new players before the transfer market closes on August 30th, ideally before this weekend’s season opener against Marti Cifuentes’ QPR at Loftus Road.

Dobbin’s Derby Stay
Dobbin made his senior football debut with Derby County in 2022/23.

It was their debut season in League One, a division lower than where he will play with West Brom.

He was a regular under Paul Warne’s guidance, primarily on the left flank but also available on the right and centrally as a striker when needed. He scored five goals and six assists in 54 games for the Rams, playing in front of large crowds at Pride Park.

His experience in a loud Goodison Park atmosphere should ensure he is well equipped for the Championship. That’s what the Baggies will be expecting after completing the temporary agreement to bring Dobbin in.

Welcome depth, out wide.
As previously said, Dobbin can play anywhere in the front three, making him a vital option for Corberan moving ahead. He typically plays on the flanks, and West Brom will have been hoping to strengthen that position.

Grady Diangana, Jed Wallace, and Tom Fellows are the primary possibilities on the flanks as things stand.
With Dobbin on board, Corberan should be able to finalize his wide players this summer, assuming no departures.
