# LSU Tigers Dismiss 5-Star Wide Receiver, Brian Thomas Jr., After Heated Argument with Coach
In a shocking move, the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers football program announced today that they have dismissed 5-star wide receiver, Brian Thomas Jr., from the team. The decision comes after a heated argument between Thomas Jr. and LSU head coach, Brian Kelly.
According to sources, the altercation occurred during a team practice session earlier this week, when Thomas Jr. and Coach Kelly got into a disagreement over a play call. The argument reportedly escalated, with both parties exchanging heated words.
“We take incidents like this very seriously, and we will not tolerate behavior that is detrimental to the team and the university,” said Coach Kelly in a statement. “After careful consideration, we have decided to dismiss Brian Thomas Jr. from the team, effective immediately.”
Thomas Jr., a sophomore from New Orleans, Louisiana, was one of the Tigers’ top receivers, with 27 catches for 412 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. He was considered one of the top recruits in the country coming out of high school, and his dismissal is a significant blow to the Tigers’ offense.
The LSU athletic department released a statement confirming Thomas Jr.’s dismissal, citing a violation of team rules and policies.
“LSU Athletics takes pride in fostering a culture of excellence, respect, and teamwork,” the statement read. “Unfortunately, Brian Thomas Jr. has failed to meet these expectations, and we have made the difficult decision to dismiss him from the team.”
Thomas Jr. took to social media to express his disappointment and frustration with the situation.
“I’m heartbroken and disappointed by the decision to dismiss me from the team,” Thomas Jr. tweeted. “I love my teammates and the LSU community, and I’m sorry that it had to end like this.”
The loss of Thomas Jr. is a significant blow to the Tigers’ depth chart, and it remains to be seen how the team will respond to his dismissal. However, Coach Kelly made it clear that the team’s values and standards must be upheld.
“We have a strong culture and a clear set of expectations for our players, and we will not compromise on those values,” Kelly said. “We will continue to support Brian as he moves forward, but we must prioritize the well-being and success of our team.”
The Tigers will face off against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, and it will be interesting to see how the team responds to the loss of one of their top players.
