AFL Mourns the Sudden Passing of Troy Selwood at 40

 

The Australian football community is mourning the sudden loss of Troy Selwood, a former Brisbane Lions midfielder and esteemed member of the renowned Selwood football family, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 40.

Drafted with the 19th pick in the 2002 AFL Draft, Selwood debuted for the Lions in 2005 and played 75 games until 2010. Known for his endurance and commitment, he often took on tagging roles against key opposition players.
