After a superb 2022 season in Peru’s top flight, the silky 24-year-old has picked up where he left off at the start of the new campaign. Bryan Reyna has either scored or assisted a goal in almost half of his team’s 11 Liga 1 games so far in 2023.

Form which has reportedly caught the eye of a Nottingham Forest side familiar already with the Peruvian market. Braian Ojeda and Brandon Aguilera both moved to the City Ground from the South American nation, though Reyna would hope to make a bigger impact than either of the aforementioned duo if he is to end up working alongside Steve Cooper in the East Midlands.

“Bryan absolutely deserves it (the interest). Not only for what he is doing in Allianz Lima but also for what he does for Peru. He is a very good player,” sporting director Jose Bellina says in quotes reported by Libero.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate him and everything he is achieving.”

Bellina, however, insists that – as of yet – no official ‘offers’ have landed on his desk. That could soon change, of course, especially with Peruvian publication Depor indicating that Allianz Lima may be willing to listen to offers in the region of just £1.2 million.

Pocket change for a Premier League club.

As a formal offer, there hasn’t been any. Yes, there are some surveys and consultations. Many times they come from intermediaries, agents who make you see that there are clubs interested in the player,” Bellina adds.

“But it seems logical to me because he is a player who is standing out a lot. He is a good age, and he is also in a highly valuable position.

“Although there is no formal offer, we do understand the dreams that the players have. And the expectations that they have about their personal growth.

“But also (we must consider if a sale) is something from which the club benefits.”

Reyna is a left-winger by trade, at his most devastating when cutting inside onto his right foot. The three-cap forward may be viewed at Forest as a potential replacement for Emmanuel Dennis.

Rumour rating; 6/10 – Bryan Reyna certainly feels both affordable and attainable, though confirmation of Forest’s interest from some more ‘reliable’ sources would be welcome.
