‘Agreement Reached’: Celtic Receive Huge Deadline Day Boost Over Star Player
Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update Celtic fans have been waiting to hear for weeks now. The Scottish Premiership side have reached an agreement for the contract extension of their star man, Liel Abada.
Abada Was a Transfer Target for Multiple Clubs
The Scottish giants have reportedly extended the contract of their youngster, Liel Abada. The Israeli put pen to paper on a four-year contract which will keep him at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.
The sensational winger was the transfer target for multiple clubs during the summer window, and the contract extension only hours away from the transfer deadline means the player will not be moving this summer. It is a huge coup for Brendan Rodgers as the talented winger possesses massive potential and can be a great asset in attack.
Romano said on his social media: “Told Liel Abada signs new deal at Celtic today! Agreement reached on a year contract, he’s staying and extending at the club.”
He added: “Excellent news for Celtic as Abada was wanted by many clubs.” The news will be a major boost for the Scottish champions as they look to defend their title for another year.
Celtic’s Transfer Window
The Celtic Park-based team sold their star forward Jota to the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ittihad. They also lost their centre-back Carl Starfelt to Spanish side Celta Vigo.
The Rodgers-led team replaced the big outgoings by making moves for young talents. Maik Nawrocki, the 22-year-old winger was signed to bolster the attack. Young centre-back duo Luis Palma and Gustaf Lagerbielke also joined the club to solidify the centre of defence.
