Mail Sport can report that West Ham are securing at least one signing on deadline day – Andy Irving of SK Austria Klagenfurt.

You may ask: who? Well, he’s a 23-year-old Scottish midfielder, and he is set to be loaned straight back to the Austrian side.

Sources say this could be the start of an affiliate partnership between the two clubs.

West Ham will be able to send players on loan to Klagenfurt, who can provide them with first-team opportunities.

The deal is yet to be announced and Mail Sport understands it is unlikely to be until next week.

West Ham will not be signing AC Milan forward Divock Origi during this transfer window, according to Sean Whetstone.

The 6foot2editor tweeted on 1 September that the Belgian international is expected to fly into the UK on Friday, but that the Hammers have no interest in landing a deal for him.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with the Irons this summer, but Sky Sports reported on 1 September that he is in talks over a move to Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

No surprise

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise to learn that West Ham are no longer interested in landing a deal to sign Origi with the transfer deadline rapidly approaching.

There had been talk of the Irons looking to bring him in on loan at the start of August, but his wages in Milan were believed to be an issue.

The club have been linked with a host of forwards this summer since they allowed Gianluca Scamacca to make the move to Atalanta.

Although the Belgian would have probably suited David Moyes’ style of play, the Hammers boss has apparently been quite adamant that he didn’t want to bring in a striker just to fill a place in his squad.

The more time goes on and the deadline gets closer, it appears as though there won’t be too much action going on at the club as they seem to be quite content with the business we have already concluded during this window.
