Leeds United will decide on the future of Joel Robles at Elland Road at the end of the current Premier League season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru has shared that the Spaniard is expected to keep his spot for the final three games of the season, leaving Illan Meslier in the dark under Sam Allardyce

More than two European clubs are said to have been informed on the situation of Robles, who will see his short-term deal expire in a matter of weeks in West Yorkshire.

“Joel Robles future will be decided at the end of the season – he’s expected to play the final games of the season after his good performance vs Man City,” he wrote.

“Robles contract expires in June, more than two European clubs are informed on the situation, also waiting on Leeds.”

Brave.

Allardyce has come in and shown that he is not afraid to do what others before him wouldn’t.

Meslier needed to be dropped after making severe errors far too many times that actually ended up costing his side points in this relegation battle.

Robles has been solid enough when coming in and commands his area much better, a quality that you certainly needed when you are set to be bombarded in defence.

If Leeds do go down, most will expect Meslier to be sold for decent money and that opens the door for Robles to become the number one longer-term at Elland Road.

The Spaniard certainly would not mind that and it could give him the chance to play in a side every single week that is pushing for promotion back to the Premier League.

Of course, Leeds will be fighting to stay there any way in these final three games, but after Monday’s results for Everton and Nottingham Forest, that looks unlikely now.

Change is coming.
