In news that will come as a surprise to absolutely no-one, Leeds United are interested in signing Ryan Kent as his contract with Rangers runs down.

That is according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, who note that Udinese and Bologna are also interested in the 26-year-old.

Ryan Kent looks set to leave Ibrox this summer after making well over 200 appearances for the Gers. He has been directly involved in 90 goals in all competitions.

Leeds targeting Ryan Kent – again

And it seems that he has been linked with Leeds on several occasions during his time north of the border. The Scottish Sun reported in 2021 that the Whites were planning a third attempt to try and sign the winger, having previously bid £11 million.

It has certainly been a keenly-contested battle between Kent and Che Adams for the player most commonly linked with an Elland Road switch over the last few years.

And this summer is no different.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Leeds are back in the running for Kent.

It would be a little more surprising if Leeds made a move for Kent now. Neither Marcelo Bielsa or Victor Orta are at the club anymore. So it feels too soon to know what direction Leeds will go in in the transfer window.

Of course, much will depend on which division Leeds will be in next year.

Kent arriving would not capture the imagination when the Leeds squad already has a number of decent wingers. But on a free transfer, it is hard to have too many complaints.

He has 10 assists this season. And he has the potential to be a ‘sensational‘ player.

So it could be a shrewd move if Leeds do secure his signature – at long last.
