Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made a bid for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, a player Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to sign as well.

Sky Germany have reported that Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern Munich all are interested in signing Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that the Gunners have already made an offer of €80 million (£70 million) for the 24-year-old England international, described as “a diamond and a fabulous player” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on Premier League Productions (29/04/23 at 11:50 am).

Liverpool need to step up Declan Rice chase after Arsenal bid

In our view, if Liverpool are really determined to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United, then they have to made a bid of their own and make sure that it is bigger than that of Arsenal.

The Gunners are ready to pay £70 million for the England international, which means that the Reds have to at least match that.

Now, of course, if West Ham are to cash in on Rice, then they will have no issue which club they sell him to as long as they are the ones paying the most money.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are big clubs, and it would not be easy for Rice to make a decision between the Gunners and the Reds, especially both of them are willing to offer him similar wages.

Yes, Arsenal will finish second in the Premier League table this season, but Liverpool have won the title and the UEFA Champions League in recent seasons.
