Best news ever: Coventry City offer their hit maker four-year deal

Coventry City FC has secured the signing of Jay Dasilva, the former England Under-21 and Chelsea youth player.

The 25-year-old left wing-back will join Coventry City on 1st July after his contract with Bristol City concludes at the end of June.

Dasilva, who had initially joined Bristol City on loan for the 2018/19 season, ended up making 144 appearances and scoring two goals during his time with the club.

Before Bristol, Dasilva also spent two loan periods with Charlton Athletic where he was named the Club’s Player of the Year in 2017/18.

In his early years, Dasilva made his mark at Chelsea where he was part of teams that won the FA Youth Cup three times and the UEFA Youth League twice.

Upon announcing the signing, Coventry City manager Mark Robins stated, “We are delighted to announce Jay as our first signing of the 2023/24 season.” He noted that despite interest from other clubs, Dasilva chose to join Coventry City.

Robins praised Dasilva’s playing style and potential contribution to the squad, describing him as a “dynamic, attack-minded wing-back with great technical ability.” He concluded by stating, “We look forward to working with him.”
