Norwich City transfer news: Kellen Fisher signing completed
Norwich City have completed the signing of 19-year-old wide man Kellen Fisher from Bromley for an undisclosed fee.
Fisher signs what the Canaries have described as a ‘long-term deal’, and will initially feature for their under-21s.
The 19-year-old’s capture is a pleasing addition for the Norfolk club, who beat off interest from Brentford and Wolves, according to reports, to secure his signature.
Fisher has played primarily on the right side for Bromley, making 25 National League appearances as well as playing twice as they were knocked out of the end-of-season play-offs.
He made his first-team debut aged 17, featuring as the Greater London side defeated Dover Athletic 1-0 in the FA Trophy. He made his full debut in the same competition, playing 90 minutes in a penalty shoot-out win over Tonbridge Angels.
He then spent time on loan with National League South side Welling United, before returning to Bromley and becoming a first-team regular last term and winning the Non-League Paper’s young player of the season award.
Speaking to official club channels, Fisher said of the move: “I’m buzzing to have signed for the club. I can’t wait to get started, and get pre-season underway.
“When Norwich came in, I was really excited. I spoke to the sporting director (Stuart Webber) a couple of times, and he really sold it to me. There’s a vision, there’s a plan, and there’s the obvious pathway for me.
“I know there’s a lot of great youth players that get brought through the club, so it was a no brainer for me.
“I’m a well-rounded right-back. I love to get forward and create chances for my team-mates, but I also love the defensive side of it: blocking shots and crosses. I like to come inside with the ball and run at players.
“The aim is to break through to the first team. I’m looking forward to it.”
The Canaries are expected to confirm the signings of multiple other under-21s this summer, with Hamilton Academical midfielder Gabriel Forsyth set to move to Carrow Road.
Watford’s Adian Manning spent time on trial with Norwich last season, as did Everton defender Charlie Wilson.
