Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze on Manchester United radar as Mason Mount alternative

Manchester United are eyeing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as an alternative target if their move for Mason Mount from Chelsea fails, according to GiveMeSport (h/t Metro).

The Stamford Bridge side’s English playmaker is on top of Erik ten Hag’s wishlist this summer. However, the Old Trafford side do not want to overpay for the 24-year-old, with the Blues adamant on their valuation.

As a result, other options are being considered by United to bolster their midfield in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, Eze is on the Manchester-based club’s radar.

The Red Devils have had an eye on the England international for some time now. Apart from the Old Trafford side, Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in the 24-year-old.

Palace signed Eze in the summer of 2020 from Queens Park Rangers. Since then, the English national has been a key player in the Selhurst Park side’s starting lineup.

The 24-year-old was also handed his debut for the Three Lions recently. In the 4-0 win over Malta in the 2024 Euro qualifiers, the playmaker came on as a substitute and found the back of the net.

At United, Christian Eriksen was signed last summer on a free transfer. The Denmark international has been an important fixture in Erik ten Hag’s plans at the Old Trafford side, playing alongside Casemiro in the midfield pivot.

However, the former Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur playmaker struggled in the later stages of most games last season. Towards the end of the campaign, the 31-year-old’s form also dipped.

Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have been inconsistent at the club. But will the Red Devils get Eze to add depth to the engine room this summer? Only time will tell.

Crystal Palace player ‘willing to open door’ to transfer – Year left on Eagles deal, 2 PL sides interested

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita could be heading out of the club this summer, according to claims from Spain.

Roy Hodgson opens up on Vicente Guaita conversation after his howler cost Crystal Palace - football.london

Outlet Marca writes that the 36-year-old is ‘willing to open the door’ for a return to his home country.

It’s claimed that even though Guaita’s contract with Crystal Palace has one more year, he’s ready to listen to offers that arrive.

His former club Getafe are said to have ‘sounded loudest’, as he has very good friends there and could rencounter manager José Bordalás.

Guaita, however, ‘values’ other options on the table. And it turns out he could even stay in England, as there are two unnamed Premier League sides interested in him as well.

So it seems like the player would have to choose between returning to his country or spending a couple of more years elsewhere.

Guaita made 28 appearances for Crystal Palace this season. He was mostly a starter until April, when Sam Johnstone started being the club’s first choice.

That situation could definitely encourage him to seek another club, and the role he’ll be offered will surely have an impact on his choice.
