With EFL Fixture Release Day a mere three days away, its all hands to the pump as Wimbledon players, staff and supporters get ready for the 2023/24 season.
Whether you’ve bought a Season Ticket, signed off on a new sponsorship agreement or are preparing for a return to pre-season training – everyone has an important role to play, on and off the pitch.
Coming together as one has always been one of our key strengths. It’s what defines the Club as a whole and makes us proud to be what we are.
Here we take a look at the week ahead and further afield as plans are made for what we hope will be a successful campaign for us all.
THURSDAY 22 JUNE: EFL FIXTURE RELEASE DAY
The day itself will begin at 9am sharp, with the announcement of our League Two fixtures. Our official website and social channels will be the place to be for all the information you need as we get dates in our diaries.
But that’s not all as the draws for the group stage of the EFL Trophy (11.30am) and the first round of the Carabao Cup (2.30pm) will also take place on the same day – so it’s well worth keeping an eye out for these also!
THURSDAY 22 JUNE: PLAYERS BEGIN PRE-SEASON
Our squad will also make their return to training this week, as Johnnie Jackson, his staff and players begin their preparations for the season ahead.
We’ll be bringing you a range of media coverage from New Malden as we look to give fans an insight into our plans.
SATURDAY 8 JULY: PRE-SEASON FIXTURES BEGIN
The pre-season schedule begins with our match in the northern area of the Alicante province as part of our tour of Spain. Set to take place at 11am (CET) at the Estadi Olímpic Camilo Cano in La Nucía, we will be taking on a fellow EFL side.
Our other confirmed pre-season friendlies are as follows:
Wednesday 12 July vs Met Police (A) 7.45pm kick-off
Saturday 15 July vs Woking (A) 12.00 noon kick-off
Saturday 22 July vs QPR (H) 15.00 kick-off
Tuesday 25 July vs Portsmouth (H) 19.00 kick-off
SATURDAY 5 AUGUST: 2023/24 SEASON UNDERWAY
The date where all the talking stops as we get back to what we know. All that remains now is to find out whether we’ll be kicking off the campaign at Plough Lane or elsewhere.
