Nathan Collins is closing on a move to Brentford

The west London side have already had a £21m bid rejected for the Wolves centre back but they have not been deterred.

Mail Sport exclusively revealed Brentford’s interest in the 22-year-old, with boss Thomas Frank keen to add a Premier League proven centre back to

his ranks.

Collins only joined Wolves last summer from Burnley for £20.5m after the Midlands side held off late interest from rival clubs, including

Tottenham, to sign him.

He is well thought of at Wolves and is not viewed as a player they are eager to cash in on this summer.

Collins found himself playing regularly for Wolves in the first half of last season but soon lost his place at the turn of the year.

Brentford are continuing talks with Wolves for defender Nathan Collins, with a £25m deal eyed

Julen Lopetegui – who was appointed in November – chose to drop him in January and Collins was unable to force his way back into the starting

XI until the final two matches of the run-in.

Brentford have already completed two permanent transfers this summer, signing goalkeeper Mark Flekken ahead of David Raya’s expected

departure, with Spurs leading the chase for the Spanish stopper.
