The Dutchman has scored 41 goals in two seasons in the Championship since arriving at the Welsh club in July 2021 from PSV Eindhoven.

His performances in English football’s second tier have reportedly alerted him to the Foxes as new boss Enzo Maresca looks to rebuild City in his attempts to take Leicester straight back up to the top flight.

And our colleagues at Wales Online claim that the Welsh side are “bracing themselves for a bid” with it claimed that the Foxes are set to bid for him. However, they are not the only side reported to be interested in acquiring his services this summer.

The report also claims that an unnamed Serie A side are also “in the running”. Southampton are another team claimed to have shown interest but the “ongoing tension” between the two clubs may “complicate” a move to the South Coast.

Premier League sides Everton and Nottingham Forest have also said to have made “tentative enquiries”. However, they are yet to “firm up any interest with a serious approach.”

Piroe told Eindhovens Dagblad last month: “Whether I will stay in Swansea for another year? There is a lot of speculation, but it remains to be seen whether something concrete will happen.

“It is nice to hear that clubs are interested. I mainly look at where I can play a lot and continue to take steps as a football player.”
