FC Halifax Town are delighted to announce the signing of forward Aaron Cosgrave following his release from League Two side AFC Wimbledon.

Cosgrave began his career in the academies at West Ham United and Colchester United. In 2017, the forward left Colchester and signed for Coggeshall Town, helping them to the Eastern Counties Football League Premier Division title, scoring 12 times in 37 appearances. At the start of the 2018/19 season, following an unsuccessful trial with Tranmere Rovers, Cosgrave signed with then National League side Havant & Waterlooville and featured against the Shaymen as second half substitute in our 2-1 loss away against The Hawks. Following a lack of consistent game time however, the forward dropped into the National League South to sign for Chelmsford City in January 2019. Cosgrave made just 13 appearances for The Clarets, before making the switch to Welling United for the start of the 2019-20 season. Having made 32 appearances for Welling, Cosgrave again dropped a league to sign for Lewes in February 2020 where the forward would make 14 appearances, scoring five times across two seasons both affected by Covid-19.
