Another Leeds United exit reportedly seems to be on the cards as Marc Roca is set to move to Spanish side Real Betis on a season-long loan.

According to AS [8 July], the La Liga outfit have negotiated to include a £10.2million option to buy at the end of the season.

There’s still understood to be a “salary gap” which needs to be resolved before the official announcement can be made.

Right price

If Leeds were to sell him this summer, this seems like the right price for the midfielder as his move to Elland Road has not been successful.

He was signed last summer in what was an overhaul of the first-team squad and very few players have actually lived up to the billing

Leeds would rather they get the money right away but there seems to be a clause in the players’ contracts that lets them leave on loan post relegation.

This is not ideally how it should’ve been but it is what it is and the Whites have to deal with a number of exits.

Hopefully, Daniel Farke will be working on getting new deals over the line and will have certain ideas on who would possibly like to move to Elland Road.

They’re going to have to look at budget options and also the right profile of signing as it’s imperative they do not get it wrong.

“Immensely talented” Leeds United duo already making their impact on Daniel Farke’s pre-season – View

Leeds United are getting to grips with pre-season under Daniel Farke this week, with talented young attackers looking to make a big impression.

The Whites are underway with their pre-season preparations this week, with Daniel Farke taking his place as the club’s new manager, the fourth permanent manager to take to the dugout in 2023.

He has his work cut out to address the many issues that led to Leeds’ demise in the Premier League last season, but has the track record that proves he’s more than capable.

Farke inherits an immensely talented attacking setup at Elland Road, though, with a lot of young players looking to take the Championship by storm this season.

Here, we look at two that are already worth keeping an eye on in Farke’s pre-season regime…

Georginio Rutter

It doesn’t take much detective work when looking at Leeds’ squad to suggest Georginio Rutter might be a star man this season, having cost £36million in January.

The Frenchman struggled to make an impact in 2023 as he was essentially frozen out from the starting lineup under each manager that he played under.

However, there is no doubt an incredibly talented player there that is sure to be unearthed by Farke if he stays put at Leeds.

His position is something that remains a mystery, but Farke’s 4-2-3-1 surely has Rutter nailed on as one of the wide forwards supporting the number nine.

Pre-season content from the club has seen Rutter feature prominently, suggesting the club are relying on him staying

Joe Gelhardt

Joe Gelhardt might come into this season vying for a similar role in the side as Rutter, but he should be happy that he ended the season well with Sunderland, despite play-off misery.

Gelhardt proved with his stint at Sunderland that he cannot play as a lone striker with his back to goal, just like Rutter.

A likewise role is needed, but again, Gelhardt has been a frequent presence in the club’s content, indicating a key role for him in the coming months.

He’s looked very sharp in training footage, and he’ll no doubt be ready for the challenge ahead.
