That is according to journalist Peter Linden, who reports both permanent and loan ‘opt-out’ clauses were inserted into his contract after his arrival from Red Bull Salzburg in January.

However, Linden also added that the finances involved in signing from Wober from Leeds is currently too much for any potential interested clubs, with Premier League and Bundesliga sides monitoring the situation.

Wober has been earmarked as player San Francisco 49ers Enterprises would like to keep this summer alongside the likes of Tyler Adams and Wilfried Gnonto.

The 25-year-old is also said to have told Leeds’ hierarchy that he would like to stay this season and help the club get promoted back to the Premier League.

leeds have already lost three players on loan this summer and are set to part ways with two more imminently, with Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca finalising temporary moves to Roma and Real Betis.

As such, Leeds can ill afford to lose yet another first team player without receiving a fee, particularly someone like Wober who the club are clearly keen to keep.

Wober only joined Leeds in January earlier this year in a deal worth around £10 million, but as per Linden, clauses were inserted into his contract due to the situation the Whites were in at the time.

The Austria international established himself as somewhat of a fan favourite after his move from Austria with some highly promising performances in central defence during his first few weeks at the club.

It would certainly be a blow to lose him this summer and he may well be someone to keep him an eye, even after reports of him wanting to stay.
