Hull City boss Liam Rosenior says talks remain ongoing over a deal to sign Aston Villa’s Keinan Davis and hopes for a positive conclusion over the weekend.

Swansea City have also held initial discussions over the forward, as Michael Duff looks to bring in a replacement for Joel Piroe, who has now joined Leeds United for £12million.

Davis is an option being explored but the Tigers are also in the hunt and are believed to have already agreed a deal with parent club Villa. Stoke City are also monitoring the situation.

Rosenior says he expects to hear over the weekend whether they have been successful in their quest to sign the former Watford loanee and says the decision is in Davis’ hands.

“We’re in negotiations and I think we’re in a really good place with that,” the City boss told Hull Live on Friday night.

“Keinan’s a very good player and there’s going to be interest from other clubs in him, but I think we are a very good fit for him, and it’s a decision for him to make.”

Swansea have already signed two forwards this summer, with Jerry Yates and Mykola Kuharevich both arriving in south Wales However, it’s understood neither player was brought in with a view to filling in for Piroe.

Davis was on Swansea’s radar before under Steve Cooper’s watch.
