Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed positive developments regarding Reo Hatat, the Japanese midfielder who is widely regarded as one of the club’s most talented players. Hatate has had a difficult start to the season, having started the first competitive match out of Rodgers’ preferred starting lineup and sustaining an injury after coming on at half-time against Aberdeen.

Reo Hatate has been out of action since the match against Aberdeen on August 13 due to a calf injury. Celtic have since gone on to win one, draw one and lose the other in his absence. However, it appears that Hatate is close to returning to action after his manager informed supporters of his return ahead of this weekend’s match with Dundee. “I’m delighted to report that Reo Hatate has returned to training with the squad, which is great news,” Rodgers said in an exclusive interview with Celtic TV. “He’s been really energetic and worked hard since his injury at Aberdeen, and I’m delighted to see him back. He’s a top-class midfield player and his focus is now solely on being part of the team and performing well.

Rodgers’ comments have been met with a number of positives, including Hatate’s return to the Celtic midfield, which has been a source of frustration for the club in recent matches. It is hoped that Hatate will be able to make his return to the starting lineup for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Feyenoord, although it is uncertain if he will be available for the home game against Lazio on October 4.

Rodgers’ subsequent statement that Hatate is now “very focused” is also highly complimentary. However, reading between the lines and some of Rodgers’ comments from the beginning of August, it appears that Hatate may have been considering the possibility of departing Celtic this summer. With the transfer window now shut and the Champions League approaching, Hatate appears to have his sights set on the goal as far as Celtic is concerned. There should no longer be any obstacles or hindrances for him to face. Hatate is now very focused and Rodgers is delighted with that.
