According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City is likely to sign a Manchester United and West Ham pair.
Manchester City’s ambitious academy set-up appear to be closing in on a pair of signings as they look to keep the conveyor belt of talent moving.
The Manchester City youth set-up has left its mark on English football in recent years, with a plethora of talent making moves from the academy to professional clubs in the English pyramid.
Just this summer the England U21 side won their age group’s European Championships with four City youth products in the team; as Cole Palmer, Tommy Doyle, James Trafford and Taylor Harwood-Bellis helped the Three Lions to victory.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, the academy is set to gain an impressive young duo in the coming days, with two additions from Premier League rivals.
The transfer insider has revealed that the club is finalising deals for promising youth players Divine Mukasa and Harrison Parker from West Ham and Manchester United respectively.
Musaka starred for the Hammers’ youth set-up as a prolific attacking midfielder, making his mark with the U15s, U16s, and even spent time with the U18s, where he helped the side to a league and cup double.
West Ham were reportedly ‘desperate’ to keep hold of the teenager, but Musaka has opted for a new adventure and will sign with the City Football Academy – a growing force within youth football.
“This club has been my home for the past 10 years and for it to come to an end is bittersweet but it’s time to move on to the next chapter of my career. Best of luck to everyone at the club,” Musaka said in a farewell post.
