‘Isn’t it?’ – EFL pundit says what the main ‘worry’ for Ipswich Town is right now

Ipswich Town are the topic of many Championship fans right now, thanks to their hot start to the 2023/24 season.

Ipswich Town finished second in League One last season, winning promotion to the Championship after a four-year stint in England’s third tier.

And many predicted that Ipswich would thrive in a more technical Championship league this time around. Few could have expected how well they’d perform.

Kieran McKenna’s side currently sit second in the table, level on points with Leicester City in first, having won seven of their first eight league games.

Everything is looking up for Ipswich at the moment, but on the most recent episode of the EFL Podcast, pundit Gary Weaver expressed his concerns.

Are Ipswich Town concerned about McKenna?

It’s understandable that McKenna is a hot commodity in the executive market right now.

He’s proving to be a highly modern and efficient coach, and it’s tough to see him leaving Portman Road for the rest of the season.

The Ipswich Town project is still in its early stages, and McKenna will no likely be eager to see it through, or at least see the majority of it completed.

Town have a strong chance of achieving an unexpected promotion this season, but if a top post becomes available and McKenna becomes a person of interest, the Tractor Boys may be in for a stressful period.

The Terriers are now unbeaten in four games, having collected eight points from those four matches to climb to 17th place in the table after the first eight games of the season.

However, they face Ipswich Town in what could be their hardest game of the season thus far, with Keiran McKenna’s team flying high in second place in the Championship standings.
