Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes that Rangers’ dismissal of Michael Beale “feels very early,” but that it reflects the more cutthroat character of management.

As he prepares to face his sixth Ibrox management team in nearly three years, the Irishman recognizes the challenges that come with the territory in Glasgow. But his sympathy for Beale’s fate, which he understands after losing his position with Leicester in April, comes with the idea that the 43-year-old will be able to reflect and “sharpen his teeth” for a third managing role after two brief tenure. Last November, the Englishman chose to quit his first club Queens Park Rangers after only four months to transfer to Glasgow.

“It’s all based on pressure for the result,” Rodgers said of Beale’s dismissal after 307 days. “Experience is what helps you as a coach and manager.

This always permits you to maintain your cool. It’s been a challenge for Michael over the previous few weeks, but he’ll develop from it. Without a question. That is what it means to be a manager. We’re familiar with the terrain up here. It is difficult to handle Celtic or Rangers. It’s obviously early in the season, but they clearly feel the need to make the move. It is always difficult to lose your position as a manager. I’ve experienced that experience, and it can feel like the end of the world the first time it happens to you. But experience teaches you that after the clouds, comes the sun – and that it’s all part of the game.
