Liverpool suffers a setback as Pedro Neto wants to join Arsenal.

Football rumours: Arsenal among several clubs interested in Wolves' Pedro Neto | beIN SPORTS

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have suffered a major setback in their pursuit of Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto, who wants to join Arsenal next year.

It was recently claimed that the Merseyside club has begun to look for a new right-winger to replace Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian has recently been linked with a move away from Anfield, with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad expressing a strong interest in signing him.

In the recently closed summer transfer window, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team even tabled a bid of roughly £150 million to sign the winger. The Merseyside club, however, was determined to keep hold of their star player and rejected the bid.

It has, however, been reported despite failing to sign Salah this summer, Al-Ittihad have not given up on signing the Egyptian and intend to submit an improved proposal for the 31-year-old next year.

Liverpool suffers a setback in their pursuit of Neto.
As a result, the Reds appear to be seeking for a new winger to replace Salah if they are forced to sell him, and have apparently identified Neto as a prospective target.

Neto is now ready to take the next step in his career, according to Football Insider, and is willing to leave Wolves next year. However, he is interested in joining Arsenal, therefore this is a significant setback for Liverpool in their pursuit of the Portuguese.

Arsenal are apparently planning to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka during the upcoming transfer window. Several players have been suggested as potential targets for the North London club, but Neto appears to be their first choice.

The 23-year-old, who is rated at roughly £24 million by Transfermarkt, is speedy, technically sound, can dribble past opposing defenders in tight situations, can create opportunities for teammates, can finish his chances, and works exceptionally hard without possession.

As a result, he possesses the required characteristics to develop into a world-class winger in the future. As a result, if either Liverpool or Arsenal can sign him, it will be a huge coup for them.

It will be intriguing to see whether Arsenal can eventually convince bNeto to the Emirates Stadium next year by defeating Liverpool in this race.
