FIFA has recognized Celtic’s outstanding efforts, and time is running out to participate.

Celtic’s treble triumph in 2022/23 serves as the foundation for Ange Postecoglou’s candidacy as the Best FIFA Men’s Coach Of The Year at their annual awards presentation, and your vote might help him win the prize.

The relevant time for the awards went from August 2022 to August 2023, implying that Postecoglou’s nomination was motivated by his remarkable Celtic success rather than his performance at Tottenham Hotspur, despite his departure from Glasgow and growing reputation in England.

The winner of each award is determined by four equally-weighted voting groups – players, coaches, journalists and fans – and the supporter voting closes tonight on Friday 6th October at 11pm UK time.

You can get involved via this link and lodge your vote with Ange and, in turn, raise the profile of Celtic’s superb trophy domination in Scottish football last term.

Ange made it clear this was all about the Bhoys

Postecoglou himself is honoured by the nomination but was quick to remind everyone last month that it is as much about the Bhoys as a club as it is about him.

He said [PLZ Soccer]: “I’m fairly humbled, but again I’m just glad it’s recognition for a great group of people I’ve worked with. Staff and players. You know everyone involved at Celtic, the fans and it’s great recognition for that club and sometimes achievements get diminished because people kind of look down on the league. But I think anytime you win a treble and we did that last year in the best possible manner.

“We won the league, we beat Rangers in both the cups, so it wasn’t easy in any stretch and I just think it’s great recognition for their football club. I’m just the front man but I’m very pleased and glad that the great football club gets the recognition.”

The Australian is up against Pep Guardiola, Simone Inzaghi, Luciano Spalletti and Xavi so there is certainly stiff competition for the gong.

The precise date for the ceremony has yet to be announced but it is expected to take place in early 2024. Hopefully, Postecoglou can be a surprise winner and Celtic get a bit of shine on a global stage. Your vote could count!
