Last week the Japanese midfielder agreed to a new five-year contract with Celtic, committing his career to the club until 2028.

Hatate has had a difficult summer, with injuries and transfer rumors forcing him to miss time in Brendan Rodgers’ starting lineup.

He seemed to be finding his feet now, however. He spoke about Rodgers, his contentment at Celtic, his devoted fans, and more in a rare interview with the club’s in-house media.

“I picked up an injury, and it’s been a short time working together,” Hatate remarked of his boss.

“However, he is knowledgeable about football and has extensive experience.” I’m delighted that he thinks highly of me, but I haven’t yet demonstrated my full potential.

“Of course, I’m trying to give my all, and my health needs to improve.” So I want to fast increase my level, and I want to repay the manager’s trust by doing effectively. I’m not satisfied yet, but I’m excited to play under the new management.

“I’m really excited to play in front of the Celtic fans.” Our club’s supporters are really passionate, and I would like to provide them with more great moments, so let’s all enjoy it together.” (Celtic Television)

Hatate has always been tough on himself in these media appearances. He has high expectations and is constantly striving to improve.

“He’ll realize he’s capable of much more than he has so far this campaign.” He has done the occasional decent thing in recent weeks, but we all know that his overall performance can be better.

On his day, he is capable of running games at the Champions League level. We have yet to view it properly. If he can reach that level, it will be extremely helpful to both the player and the organization, both on and off the field.

For the time being, he appears content, motivated, and ready to soar under Rodgers. We keep hearing positive stuff. Now we just have to wait and see how it plays out on the field.
