Liel Abada has received criticism.

Liel Abada: Celtic winger facing 'three to four months' out with thigh injury | Football News | Sky Sports

It is completely unfair and unjust to criticize Liel.

These past several days, Liel Abada has been the target of some criticism. Naturally, this is a result of the outcry that followed the club’s decision to criticize the Green Brigade for their widely publicized support of the Palestinian people and country, particularly the banners that were hung at Celtic Park on Saturday.

It must be acknowledged that the criticism of Liel has come from a tiny number of illogical followers, but even so, one critical voice is too many. There is nothing wrong with Liel Abada. His sole transgression is that he is a patriot. He didn’t criticize the Celtic supporters or desire harm against anyone. Liel’s performance on the football field should be the only standard by which he is evaluated.

We are a club open to all after all and that should be remembered. Liel is a talented young lad who is a valued member of our squad. He deserves better and doesn’t deserve any flak coming his way especially due to something that’s outwith his control. He’s also had some stick from his homeland because he plays for Celtic and those banners were displayed at Celtic Park by the Green Brigade – yet Abada gets the stick from that end too!

If you think he deserves to be criticised just because of where he’s from or who he plays for, you should be ashamed of yourself. Thankfully the overwhelming majority of the Celtic support don’t think this way and will give Liel Abada our full support as indeed the club is doing.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
