O’Riley has been left out of the squad for this international window. Kasper Dolberg, on the other hand, has pulled out of contention, thus the Bhoy will have his big chance to impress boss Kasper Hjulmand.

The Celtic midfielder was already in Denmark for Sunday night’s 3-1 win over Kazakhstan, and he’ll now travel to San Marino for Tuesday night’s qualifier.

O’Riley was born in England but qualified for Denmark due to his grandmother. When he was of legal age, he played in six Denmark U21 matches, scoring two goals and assisting twice.

He’s been in excellent form under Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers this season, and he shares the club scoring lead with Kyogo Furuhashi, having scored five goals in 11 appearances.

The midfielder has repeatedly expressed his desire to play for Denmark throughout his career, so this is a tremendous achievement for a guy who is still only 22 years old.

Playing football for Denmark will be an honor If he plays well, his worth to Celtic as an asset will rise.

O’Riley recently committed his long-term future to the Bhoys, and we expect to see the best of him in the coming year or two before making a judgment on a prospective sale.

Celtic have reportedly rejected bids of up to £10 million for the midfielder, with a late-summer bid from Leeds United. Clearly, the club believes he has a lot more to offer and, in the end, may be sold for a lot more money.
