Nottingham Forest are still interested in the ‘unbelievable’ Chelsea starlet.

On transfer deadline day in the summer, Nottingham Forest attempted to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. The player was coveted, and he could still be on the radar of the City Ground.

Bayern Munich was interested in the 24-year-old throughout the summer. When that deal fell through, Forest made a £25 million bid, which Chelsea accepted before the deadline.

However, Chalobah was not interested in moving to Forest. He elected to stay and compete for a spot at Stamford Bridge, but he will almost definitely be permitted to depart when the window reopens.

This news comes courtesy of 90Min. They believe that Steve Cooper is a huge fan of Chalobah and he will be monitoring the situation involving the Chelsea man closely in January.

Forest target Chalobah has fallen way down the pecking order at Chelsea. The £50,000-a-week player came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge and he’s made 63 appearances for the Blues during his time in the senior Chelsea team.

The player will now be counting down the days until January. He will be desperate to get out and play some football and it will be intriguing to see where he heads when the window reopens.

Forest would have some juggling to do at centre-back

Forest target Chalobah has proved a very useful player for Chelsea when he has been called upon. Rio Ferdinand called him ‘unbelievable’ back in 2019 and he was very impressed with the player who typically plays at centre-back.

It’s fair to say that should any centre-back sign it would mean possibly two players leaving the club. Scott McKenna and Felipe are both out of contract next summer and they would surely be in the mix to depart.

Murillo has made a strong start to life at Forest; whilst Willy Boly is also out of contract next summer but his early season form has suggested that he’s undroppable at the moment.

Joe Worrall remains the club captain, although he’s finding game time hard to come by. Andrew Omobamidele was also signed on transfer deadline day and looks like one for the future.

Chalobah would be an interesting signing given the competition for places. However, if Cooper wants him, perhaps the club’s recruitment team will go after him once more in January.
