‘My Son Knows Better,’ Rams’ McVay Explains Status Against Steelers.

With the birth of Sean McVay and Veronika Khomyn’s son anticipated at any moment now, any concerns about the Los Angeles Rams coach’s game status may be put to rest. “I’m not going to miss a game,” McVay stated recently when asked if he’d be on the sidelines on Sunday. “My son knows better than to come during a game.”

The original allegations of McVay’s uneasiness arose from a news conference last week ahead of the Rams’ 26-9 win against the Arizona Cardinals, during which he stated that the staff has contingency plans in place but did not specify what those were. However, after a weekend of speculation about who would step in if Khomyn went into labor, which did not occur, McVay’s statement may be a sigh of relief for supporters as the Rams aim to bounce back to.500 with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Rams are currently a three-point favorite over the Steelers, who, although being 3-2, aren’t off to the start many expected. The Steelers have a -31 point differential through five games, as their offense under Matt Canada is among the worst in the league.

The Steelers are third in both points (15.8) and yards per game (268.2). Furthermore, their passing game is 27th in yards per game, and they aren’t faring much better in the run game, where they rank 28th. With the Rams currently 3-3, the game against the Steelers couldn’t have come at a better moment for both a young Rams defense and McVay, who is still expecting his first child.

The Rams will take on the Steelers at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday inside SoFi Stadium.
