The Carolina Panthers defeated the visiting Houston Texans, 15–13, on Sunday to record their first victory of the season. Are they in the NFL now beginning to emerge from the basement?

For the first time since Cam Newton helped Carolina overcome a 17-0 deficit against the Eagles in 2018, he assisted Carolina in winning after trailing by only one point in the fourth quarter. When Carolina selected Young first overall, his decision-making and processing throughout the drive were as superb as promised.
