The quarterback went down in the fourth quarter after injury

Quarterback C.J. Stroud to return to Ohio State football practice

Houston Texans quarterback, C.J. Stroud, left the game against the New York Jets with an apparent head injury.

The rookie sensation went down in the fourth quarter after a hard tackle by the Jets defense in a second down play with 6:34 minutes to play.

Stroud was seen in visible pain while he was on the ground waiting for the Texans’ medical staff.

The quarterback was able to leave the field by his own power but after visiting the sideline he went straight to the locker room.

David Mills took his spot in the offense as the Texans looked to shorten the Jets’ 6-24 lead at MetLife Stadium.

The Texans made an official statement on the health of the quarterback confirming he was being evaluated for a concussion and his official status in the dying minutes of the game was ‘questionable’.

Stroud had 10 of 23 completions for 91 yards with a 54.8 quarterback raiting.

Stroud entered the game as the NFL’s passing leader with 3,540 yards and tied for eighth with 20 touchdowns. But Sunday’s game was a tough outing for the Texans, who played without several players due to injury.

Leading receiver Nico Collins left early due to a calf injury, while defensive end Will Anderson Jr., the No. 3 overall pick in 2023, injured his ankle. The Texans also played without receiver Tank Dell, out for the season due to a broken leg, and tight end Dalton Schultz, who missed his second straight game with a hamstring injury.
