Former USC, Ohio State kicker Parker Lewis set on ASU transfer

Former USC Kicker Parker Lewis Transferring to Ohio State | Eleven WarriorsThe Sun Devils will have a new placekicker in 2024.

Parker Lewis, a Scottsdale Saguaro High alumnus and former kicker for USC and Ohio State, declared on Saturday that he would play for Arizona State in 2024.

After Dario Longhetto left the team, the Sun Devils now have an opening at the position. Longhetto is no longer eligible after making 11 of 16 field goals in the previous campaign. The team’s returning options at placekicker are redshirt freshman Carston Kieffer and sophomore Ian Hershey.

Before moving to Ohio State, where he failed to make any field goals or PATs in games in 2022 or 2023, Lewis was the starting kicker for the Trojans in 2020 and 2021. During the past two seasons, he has participated in just one game. Last season, he took advantage of both of his opportunities to kick touchbacks against Western Kentucky.

But prior to his time at Ohio State, Lewis was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 in 2020 while he was a true freshman. During the course of two seasons, he hit 26 of 35 field goals and 46 of 47 PATs, including 9 of 15 from beyond 40 yards.

Lewis kicked four field goals against Utah in 2020 and nailed a career-long 52-yard field goal against ASU in 2021.

Lewis was awarded first-team All-American by MaxPreps and National Football Foundation Luis Zendejas Arizona Senior Placekicker of the Year at Saguaro, where he played for current ASU tight ends coach Jason Mohns.

Lewis was ranked No. 3 by Kohl’s Kicking and 247Sports as the third best overall kicking prospect in the 2020 class.
