Former Miami Hurricane TE David Njoku Scores TD, Leads Cleveland Past Chicago 20-17
Former Miami Hurricanes tight end David Njoku is a blast to watch. So far in 2023, the Cleveland Browns pass catcher is a consistent force with 69 receptions, 704 yards, a 10.2 average, and 5 touchdowns. He’s one of the NFL’s best tight ends. Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears is further proof with 10 receptions, 104 yards, a 10.4 average, and a touchdown.

Cleveland’s fourth-quarter rally to beat Chicago is also another example of Njoku being a big-time player beyond the touchdown grab. Here are Njoku’s fourth-quarter numbers alone:
Cleveland came into the fourth quarter trailing 17-7. Then the Njoku placed another stamp on the game. 56 seconds to go, tied at 17, Cleveland quarterback Joe Flacco is in the shotgun formation facing a third down and 15.
The veteran quarterback finds Njoku via a short pass and he rumbles 34 yards to the 19-yard line to help set up the game-winning field goal by Cleveland kicker Dustin Hopkins. The Browns go home a winner, 20-17.
Since 2017, Njoku’s time with the Browns has brought many big moments. Sunday would be one that Cleveland Browns fans and Miami Hurricanes fans should smile about.
