Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers Jokingly Reveals 1 Thing that Disappointed Him Personally About 17-9 Win Over Chicago Bears
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been one of the biggest stories in the NFL over the past week. Of course, this is exactly how he likes it and he ensures that it continues with his weekly appearances on .
His ongoing feud with Jimmy Kimmel reached new levels last week when Rodgers insinuated that Kimmel’s name might be on the infamous Epstein List. Kimmel fired back at the four-time NFL MVP on social media and in his opening monologue on Monday night, calling Rodgers uneducated and a various slew of names.
While Rodgers did use a great deal of his appearance this Tuesday to, in his eyes, set the record straight and explain why everyone misinterpreted what he said, he did take some time to talk about his former team and their victory over the Bears.
As always, Rodgers was highly complimentary of his successor, Jordan Love, whom he helped develop into a top-10 NFL quarterback. He also bragged on the Packers’ 10th consecutive victory over the Bears and expressed his happiness that the team has been successful. Despite how things ended between himself and the organization, he has gone on record multiple times saying he will always cheer for them.
That being said, there was one thing about the win that left Rodgers a little disappointed.
As both Packers and Bears fans are aware, Rodgers relishes in playing Chicago and being successful against them. For this career, he has a passer rating of 109.0, 6,965 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions against the Bears. He also owns a 24-5 record against them.
With the way that the NFL schedule is set up for 2024, the NFC North and AFC East teams will play against the team from each division that corresponded with where they finished in the rankings. In other words, if the New York Jets had finished in the same place as the Bears did in the NFC North, Rodgers would get to travel to Chicago for one more matchup against them.
That, though, did not happen as the Jets finished third in the AFC East and the Bears finished last in the NFC North:
“The thing, you know, that I’m a little disappointed about, I thought that based on tie-breakers, Packers win means Bears are third in the division, which means that NYJ goes off to Solider Field. So we’re going to US Bank instead [to play the Vikings].”
While Rodgers has had extremely high levels of success against the Bears, he has also been good against Minnesota, though not as good. He has a career record of 17-11-1 against the Vikings, with a passer rating of 108.4, 7,157 passing yards, 57 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
