LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The transfer portal played a big part in the Louisville football program’s success in head coach Jeff Brohm’s first season at the helm. It also appears that it will once again play a major role in year two under Brohm.

Last month, the Cardinals announced that they had officially signed 24 of their 26 transfer portal commitments as midyear enrollees. The other two, Harvard defensive tackle Thor Griffith and San Diego State tight end Mark Redman, will finish out the semester at their respective schools and join UofL this summer.

“I just think the college landscape has changed quite a bit,” head coach Jeff Brohm said. “Yes, it will continue to probably adapt, moving forward, even more. but we just try to figure it out and make the most of it. From our end, I think you’ve always got to be ready for roster change.”

Louisville is adding 15 players on the offensive side of the ball, as well as 11 players on defense. When put all together, this is a group that is regarded as the No. 1 transfer portal class in all of college football, according to On3.
