Coby White signs deal to stay with Chicago Bulls

as NBA free agency opened up on Friday night. He signed a three-year deal worth up to $40 million to stay with the franchise that took him as a lottery pick a few years back.

With Chicago not having a lot of money to spend in free agency, locking up their own free agents became a priority. That included White who earned a new deal and will now compete to be the starting point guard for the Bulls.

It’s been an up-and-down career for White with the Bulls but last season he found his role off the bench. He was impressive down the stretch helping the Bulls reach the play-in round, beating Toronto and then losing late to the Miami Heat.

White averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Bulls last season.
