Keely Hodgkinson, the Olympic 800m champion for Team GB, had an injury that curtailed her season. The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in her first race after winning gold—the 400 meters at Berlin’s ISTAF athletics meet at the end of the month—before traveling to the Diamond League meetings in Zurich and Brussels in September. Her victory in Paris was the most watched event of the Games on terrestrial television. “I’m done with races! We accomplished everything I had planned to accomplish this year, despite my unfortunate little injury. I appreciate all of your love and support! Next year, I’ll see you on the track,” she wrote on Instagram.
