NFL fans were devastated by the newest information on former Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
A recent update on Drew Brees, the former New Orleans Saints quarterback, disappointed NFL fans. Brees took his final snap in the NFL during the 2020 season, after breaking multiple Saints and league records.
Brees’ last season with the Saints was a significant difference from prior seasons. He did not appear to have as much arm power to propel the ball down the field. We now know why after Brees discussed his arm on ESPN’s “Greeny” radio show on Wednesday.
According to ESPN’s transcription, Brees stated that he would still play in the NFL if he could, but he is unable to throw a football with his right arm.
“Look, I’ll reveal a tiny information. I don’t throw with my right arm any more. “My right arm does not work,” Brees explained. “So, when I throw in the backyard right now, I throw left-handed.”
He experienced an almost-career-ending dislocated shoulder in 2005 while playing for the San Diego Chargers, which placed him “on the fast track to a degenerative shoulder and all kinds of arthritic changes.”
He reiterated that he no longer throws with his right arm, but “if I could, I would absolutely still be playing.”
