10 Hearts stars out of contract in 2025 as Lawrence Shankland prepares for new challenge

Lawrence Shankland was offered the world at Hearts last season but refused to sign on the dotted line.

The Jambos wanted to provide their top striker and captain with the most expensive contract they’ve ever produced as he hit the heights last term but the pair couldn’t agree on terms and that left supporters nervous that they may well lose their key man for nothing. The January window came and went with the club refusing to field calls and they actively discouraged any bids.

This season remains much the same, although time is not on their side to attempt to renew the player’s deal if it’s still what they want to do.

Shankland may well be looking for a fresh challenge beyond this campaign and with his deal coming to an end in 2025 he’s entitled to wait that out. But there are nine other players in the same boat as their skipper
