Ange Postecoglou provides injury updates for James Maddison and Son Heung-min.
Tottenham will need to assess the fitness of captain Son Heung-min and James Maddison before the visit of Liverpool on Saturday.
The influential duo were forced off late in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Arsenal with minor muscle problems and have missed parts of training this week.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou said: ‘From last week, Brennan (Johnson) will miss out. Nothing too serious, but he won’t play this week.
‘Madders and Sonny trained today, they seemed to get through it OK, but we’ll see how they pull up because they were sore last week.’
Both players featured prominently in last weekend’s encouraging 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby which underlined the progress Spurs have made in a short space of time under their new manager.
Despite another encouraging display, Postecoglou insists the feeling inside the away dressing room was of regret at a missed opportunity.
‘The players are the ones embracing what we are doing,’ said the Australian ahead of another acid test against Liverpool on Saturday evening.
‘It wasn’t euphoric in the dressing room; we knew it would be tough. Arsenal are going to be a force but we held out own and the lads were disappointed they couldn’t finish it off.
‘It is fair to say the players have shown a good degree of perseverance this year and we’ve had to with the nature of the way the games have gone.
‘A lot of things haven’t gone our way in the context of a football game. We had a lot going on in the first 45 minutes of the first game, and the players all responded incredibly well to it.
‘Sometimes these things may become a little bit overdone because opposing fans are obviously seeking for any kind of sore point that a football club may have.’
