It was another comfortable win for No. 3 ranked Michigan, this time at home against Purdue in a primetime matchup in the Big House. The Wolverines cruised to a 41-13 victory, and, once gain, junior quarterback JJ McCarthy played a major role in making it happen.

Michigan’s QB1 played nearly the entire fourth quarter for the first time all season, and he finished the evening completing 24-of-37 attempts for 335 yards. His performance on Saturday night was far from being his best, failing to find the endzone and missing on a number of throws that he would normally complete with ease. But even when McCarthy looks a little bit off, he still looks pretty damn good – and his head coach knows it.

Speaking with the media after the game, Jim Harbaugh indicated that an average night for McCarthy is a career night for a lot of other quarterbacks – and that he believes No. 9 is already the top quarterback in Michigan Football history.

“Looking back on that, it would have been a career night for most quarterbacks – me included,” Harbaugh said. “Like I said, 65 percent, 335 yards, really great plays. Some things to clean up, missed on location on a location on a couple of balls, we had some drops. But great to get the win and still have a couple of things to work on.”
