Mario Balotelli has titled Brendan Rodgers a ‘disaster’ as he blasted him as his worst-ever coach.

The maverick Italian striker is now 33 but his breakthrough at Inter Milan back in the late 2000s provoked promises of a generational talent. While he has had plenty of success and big moves, the enigmatic frontman’s career has been littered with on and off the pitch incidents and the fiery character is now in Turkey at Adana Demirspor.

Balotelli worked with current Celtic boss Rodgers during the 2014/15 season at Liverpool and it wasn’t a move that went to plan, with his second season in Merseyside spent out on loan at AC Milan, who they’d signed him from for £16m. He netted one goal in red and earned Rodgers’ fury when swapping shirts with Real Madrid defender Pepe at half-time of a Champions League match. Speaking with TVPlay, the forward has reaffirmed his distain for the Parkhead gaffer.

He said: “Brendan Rodgers is the worst coach I have ever had. He was number one as far as training sessions were concerned, what with keeping possession of the ball and the small-sided games. But as a person he was a disaster.”
