Stefano Cherchi, an Italian jockey, passed away on March 20 after tripping during a race in Canberra. The 23-year-old fell on Hasime at Canberra Racecourse this month, breaking his head and causing internal hemorrhage. “With deep sadness, the Cherchi family have announced their beloved son Stefano passed away peacefully today,” the New South Wales Jockeys Association wrote on X.
