Seal deal: Reading have seal deal for two talented players

Bus fares for football fans have increased for the 2023/24 season. Decreased funding from Reading FC and increased running costs have led to an increase in fares on football services to and from the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

The changes will see most single fares increase by £1 and return fares by £2. The changes apply to adult, under-19 and concessionary fares.

There will also be an increase in price for the simplyMatchday tickets, allowing you to book your travel for several games in advance while saving you money. However, free tickets provided to concessionary pass holders in Bracknell and Oxfordshire will remain free for journeys towards the station with a single ticket needing to purchased for the return.

Jake Osman, Reading Buses Marketing Manager, said: “Following a withdrawal of funding from Reading Football Club, alongside increased running costs, we have been faced with the unavoidable decision to make changes to fares on our football services for the upcoming 2023/24 season. This is not something we take lightly, but it is a necessary change to ensure that we can still run these buses to take supporters to the games.”

Adult – £3.50 single – £5.50 return

Under 19s – £3.50 single – £5.50 return

Adult – £5.50 single – £7.50 return

Under 19s – £4 single – £5.50 return

Outside the Reading zone

Adult – £6.50 single – £8.50 return

Under 19s – £4.50 single – £6 return

Family (1 or 2 adults, up to 3 children) – no single fare – £26 return

Concessionary – £2.50 single (F51 and F52 only) – £4.50 return

Park and ride (F2 Shinfield Par/F3 Mereoak)

Adult – £5.50 single – £7.50 return

Under 19s – £4 single – £5.50 return

Group ticket – £9 (up to 5 people travelling together, maximum of 3 adults)
