Norwich City land former Leeds United and Middlesbrough midfielder on one-year deal
Norwich City have snapped up midfielder Adam Forshaw following his departure from Leeds United.

The 31-year-old left Leeds earlier this summer, having spent over five years with the club. He had arrived at Leeds from Middlesbrough, where he had been a key figure in midfield.
He was available as a free agent following his Elland Road exit and has penned a one-year deal with Norwich, linking up with former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner. His contract also includes the option of a further year.
In Norwich’s statement confirming his arrival, Forshaw said: “I’ve watched the games in the first few weeks and been really impressed, I couldn’t wait to get in and try to be a part of it.
“One of the main reasons I came here is because they have a great chance this year. A good mix of big characters and experience with a lot of youthfulness in the rest of the squad.
“The head coach has been there and done it before so everything is in place for us to go and be successful.”
Canaries boss David Wagner added: “We always had the feeling of wanting to add another player into the midfield areas, and we’re delighted that we have been able to bring a player of Adam’s quality in.
“He knows this league very well and has lots of experience on this level. With everything we have heard about his character and personality, I get the feeling that he will be great for the dynamic of our squad, both on and off the field.”
Norwich City are determined to keep both Kenny McLean and Josh Sargent amid reported interest from Leeds United.
That is according to Football League World, who report Norwich see the duo as key to David Wagner’s plans in their push for promotion to the Premier League.
It is said that the ‘main interest’ in the two Canaries players has come from Leeds amid their ongoing pursuit of strengthening in midfield and attack.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke is well known to Sargent and McLean having signed them during his time as manager at Carrow Road.
Amid this stance from Norwich, it would appear Leeds have already moved onto alternative targets anyway as their window builds up ahead of steam.
Leeds completed the signing of Joel Piroe on Thursday which is likely to end any interest in Sargent given they are both number nines.
The Whites are yet to bring in a new central midfielder but have been heavily linked with Nadiem Amiri, Lewis O’Brien and Glen Kamara.
McLean and Sargent have both started all three of Norwich’s Championship matches so far this season, in which they have picked up seven points.
It appears unlikely Leeds will make a late move for either player as they set their sights elsewhere.
