'Important': Fabrizio Romano provides a'really vital' update about Julian Nagelsmann and Tottenham

In light of several rumors linking Julian Nagelsmann to Tottenham Hotspur, Fabrizio Romano has provided a new update on the issue.

Romano revealed what he knows about Nagelsmann on the Here We Go Podcast, saying that although the German is still one of Spurs’ top targets, he isn’t fully sold on the notion of relocating to north London just yet.

Before agreeing to join Spurs, the writer claimed that Nagelsmann has to be aware of the current state of the club’s Sporting Director issue. He also suggested that Nagelsmann might choose to return to the organizational setup he had at RB Leipzig, where he collaborates with a Sporting Director.

Nagelsmann wants clarity

Romano shared what he knows about the German manager.

“Tottenham have Julian Nagelsmann as one of their priorities, he’s one of their top targets in terms of a new manager. Before reaching an agreement he wants some guarantee on a new director. They don’t have a Director of Football, and he wants to know if Tottenham will go in that direction to have a new Director of Football or not,” Romano said.

“That is really important it is really crucial. My opinion is that Nagelmsann wants the same structure again he had at Red Bull Group. At Bayern he had problems and that’s why he was fired. After that shock at Bayern, he wants to make sure he has some power and be influential in decisions.”

Get it sorted

If Tottenham want to have Nagelsmann as their next manager, then they need to get their Sporting Director situation sorted.

As a German, it’s not hard to understand why Nagelsmann is so keen to work with a Sporting Director. After all, that is the standard procedure in the Bundesliga, so Spurs need to get this sorted.

Of course, that is easier said than done, but when there’s a will, there’s a way.

The north London club need to get to work and find the right man to work alongside Nagelsmann, otherwise, they could miss out.
